The thing about God size dreams is they take you way, way, way out of your comfort zone because they promise you a reward that is better than staying where you are at.

On today's podcast, we're going to see why it's okay to wilt like a flower, but also trust that courage can still spring up as we lean on God. These are tips that you can start right now as you move toward those god size dreams in bite sized chunks.

Hello and welcome to the podcast God size dreams and bite size chunks. I'm your host, Angela Meer. So let's get ready to be energized, inspired and activated in our God size dreams.

Hello and welcome to another episode. When we talk about being brave, a few things come up: pictures of women like Rosa Parks, or the mom down the street that is battling breast cancer. Or the time your kid gave a speech, even though she was petrified.

But rarely, rarely do we see ourselves as brave, and even if we are, we don't acknowledge it. It's almost as if we require bravery from ourselves as an adult function, without recognizing how much of a milestone it really can be.

Sometimes with God size dreams were forced into positions that make us want to wilt and hope it never comes around again, whether it's a presentation, a speech, a networking event or even a controversial Facebook post. When we do brave things, we often shirk away and hope that there is no residual fallout from our out of the norm.

But let me tell you why it is so important to do the Brave thing, even though you want to wilt.

The Brave Thing Propels Your Dream

Number one, the brave thing breaks up the monotony of the status quo. Here's the thing: when you're moving towards your God size dream, whether it's a business, a nonprofit, a ministry, a book you want to write, or a situation that you want to change in your own life when you're moving towards your God sized dream, the Only reason you don't have your God size dream is because you can't stay where you're at.

There has to be milestones that caused you to move beyond the things that you used to be into the new things that's going to cause you to inherit the gods size dream.

These milestones, typically our brave events. Take, for instance, when the Israelites were moving out of the promised land the first place they got to was Jericho. Jericho had inpenetrable walls. It was an impossible place to go. But it was exactly where God wanted to them to go. He didn't take them to The first place was some small tribe that had five people, but lots of land.

He took them to the city of Jericho because it forced them to be brave. It forced them out of the monotony of the 40 years of status quo in the desert. And the monotony of that had to be broken up by a major milestone.

And in Joshua, Chapter One, What did Jesus… What did God Command them over and over again: Be brave and courageous. Do not be terrified. I am with you. I am with you. I am with you.

You see, the brave thing is the thing that forces us to really get into the place that we need to go the milestone event of our life so that we can move toward that God sized dream. God size dreams happen in two ways:

1.      Faithfulness and diligence the day in and day out, and

2.     then to do the brave thing of a big event that causes you to go to the next level.

Bravery is an awesome thing. And even though you may want to wilt, remember that you doing the brave thing is the thing that causes that that big, God sized dream to come to pass.

Dependence on God

Welcome back. We're talking about why it's so important to do the brave thing. You know, The brave thing also forces you to trust God. It's not so difficult to trust God would we're just on Facebook or sweeping our floor, so her or just doing everyday things. But the brave thing forces us to depend on God in a way that we have never had to depend on him before. We have to see if he's going to come through for us in the most challenging way.

Recently, I had to do something that was incredibly brave. It was the first time that a couple came to me and said, Will you marry us in a ceremony? Oh, my goodness: I have done Sermons, have done tons of speaking engagements, but I've never married anyone. I really didn't want to mess it up, and it required a ton of bravery. I had to get my license. I had to learn the right words. I had to get the message that I was going to share. But the most important thing was I wanted to make sure that I had the rituals around a wedding ceremony Correct, making sure that the couple felt comfortable in front of me.

Bravery will catapult your dream faster than any other tactic you lean. That’s why God commands us to have courage!

Bravery will catapult your dream faster than any other tactic you lean. That’s why God commands us to have courage!

And, boy, Oh, boy, I was so nervous. I was a wreck for weeks, getting ready for that. But, you know, I prayed a lot and it forced me to trust that God was gonna come through for me. And that day, when I was standing in front of the whole church of a whole bunch of people that I didn't know and I was looking at this couple in front of me who were so excited to get married, I realized this was part of my God size dream. I wanted to be around people. I wanted to be a part of people's lives. So much so that they wanted to invite me into events just like that one. I looked at that couple, I took a deep breath and I did it and God came through for me. I even made a few jokes.

So it just goes to show you that God really wants to come through for us when we're doing the right thing.

Bravery is a Huge Victory

Finally, the brave thing results in our victory, even if that victory is that we have faced her fear and did the brave thing, you wouldn't know it the way that I talked these days. But I used to be terrified to speak in public. In fact, I used to hyperventilate, and what I mean by that is that I couldn't breathe. I would literally in my chest, would go up and down, up and down, up and down. And I would forget the words and it was horrible, horrible. But I kept doing it and kept moving forward. Part of my God size dream means that I have to be able to speak in public and it's very difficult.

But every time that I have faced that fear, I've gotten better and better and even the victories of looking back of moving towards my God size dream. I think the victory of learning how to speak publicly has been one of the biggest ones for me because I'm a very different person today that it was a couple years ago, the person who was hyperventilating in front of a crowd.

You see every victory that we have that requires our bravery is a reward towards our God size dream. And even if you are just facing that fear over and over again, that that is.

Part of the cool aspects of having a God size dream is that you become the person that the gods sized dream needs.

I have a little devotional for you to help you work through the next brave thing you have to do. It's free with the podcast playbook at AngelaMeer.com. I love and appreciate you all. And until next time, this is Angela Meer helping you achieve God size dreams in bite size chunks.
